Evergreen Infrastructure partnering with Sempergreen Australia worked with the clients to design and install a biodiversity green wall that would provide multiple benefits for the home owner and utilise a vertilce space in the landscape.

Form

The pool and terraced landscape left limited room for a garden, restricting greenery to potted plants. The abundance of hard surfaces intensified heat and brightness on sunny days, highlighting the need for additional greenery to create a cooler, more comfortable environment. Given the property’s location and proximity to nearby green spaces, incorporating plants that support beneficial insects and pollinators would also provide an essential food source, enhancing local biodiversity.

About the project

This project was designed to incorporate vertical greenery, maximising garden space in a landscape constrained by its size. The installation of a green wall, capable of supporting plants in a hot, sunny environment without occupying valuable ground space—particularly around the pool—was a key feature. The choice of plants emphasized visual appeal, provided a food source for beneficial pollinators, and introduced lush greenery to soften and cool the built environment. These elements were crucial to the successful creation of this innovative greenspace.
